SOLIDARITIES
PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP
SOLIDARITIES is a four-part, monthly series of discussion and screening program focusing on student and youth movements in Southeast Asian region from 1960s to present day. The program aims to explore the role and potential of young people in Southeast Asia in today’s sociopolitical climate and place them into broader perspectives and more comprehensive contexts. The program also attempts to construct a collective and comparative regional history of student and youth movements through shared issues, in hoping that reflecting on the past will offer better consideration of the present and future of youth resistance in the region and will bring people together into regional solidarity and further social mobilization. SOLIDARITIES is organized by The Reading Room, Bangkok, and is supported by Heinrich Boll Foundation and Purin Pictures.
