The SeaShorts Film Festival 2018 is the second edition short film festival to celebrate short films from Southeast Asia in Malaysia since 2017. A total of 22 programmes, which includes more than 120 short films were showcased in the Festival this year, including short films screenings, panel talks, master class, experimental film challenges, live drawing session and live music performance. From over 300 submissions, twenty Southeast Asian short films were selected in the SeaShorts Competition and ten Malaysian short films were selected in Next New Wave Competition. Purin Pictures is the award sponsor for the SeaShorts Competition with cash award of USD 2,500 for the best Southeast Asian short film in the SeaShorts Competition.
