JAFF Archive

JAFF Archive is a department under Yogyakarta Cinema Foundation. It is formed out of a desire to provide more open access to films for educational needs that can be used by academics, film communities, and even the wider public. The activities will focus on preservation, research, and film literacy through discussion forums to film screenings. Currently, the Indonesian film ecosystem is led to the growth of the quantity of film production in several major cities on the island of Java. However, this growth is still very centralized in Java and is often not accompanied by the distribution of knowledge and sufficient access to film viewing space for people outside Java. This project seeks to offer an accessible experience to films in a more open and inclusive form for fellow film communities in other regions of Indonesia.
