Haw Loi Loi

Haw Loi Loi is a documentary workshop on reflection, representation, and exploration of identity. This documentary workshop will be held in Kali, Shan State, to teach the fundamentals of documentary filmmaking. The organizer wants to continue the tradition of documentaries during these uncertain times amidst Covid-19 and the military coup where freedom of speech has been especially suppressed. Even before the coup, ethnic minority regions lacked access to workshops on documentary filmmaking. They believe that this is the right time to travel to this region to introduce skill sets to Shan ethnic minorities to tell their own stories through documentaries.
