Asiadoc 2019 is the documentary workshop that aims to help the filmmakers to work on their story in the pre-production stage so that they strengthen their narrative and their intentions, the story they want to tell and the way they want to it using the language of creative documentary. However, producing a documentary is surely not a certain and defined process. There are a lot of unpredicted moments that might happen to the story's protagonists and maybe the story itself. One can say it's a never-ending process. That's why the filmmakers need to have a strong concept as a guide to making creative decisions on the field. Asiadoc’s learning methodology consists of group discussion and personal sessions for each filmmaker so that they will get a more precise and measured concept. Therefore, Asiadoc plays an important role as the filmmakers' oasis to learn and develop their skills, amidst the lack of documentary training/workshop and knowledge sources. Indeed, beyond the development of a documentary project, Asiadoc’s aim is also to give tools to the filmmakers for them to be more autonomous in the next stages of their project and for the projects to come.
