Kota Bharu Film Festival

Kota Bharu Film Festival is a 4-day event held in Kota Bharu, Malaysia with a mixture of screenings and a workshop. The screenings will be recent local films with a Kelantan theme. It tends to focus on specific regions such as Aceh or Brunei, places with similarly conservative cultural politics but which have a film scene. Apart from that, there will be discussion sessions on the possibility of similar events being done in other parts of Kelantan. The workshop is to be mentored by a Kelantanese director from mainstream cinema and is meant to encourage new talent in making a short film.
